Our project for 2025/26 is coming to end but we are continuing our support work in the community with ongoing on line courses and access to our support videos and will be continuing to work with local organisations and community groups to offer advice and sessions.
We delivered a number of awareness and exercise sessions including health walks, community events and workshops.
This year our focus included awareness of skin cancer and lung cancer, two of the fastest growing now in the UK, as well as those where screening takes place - breast, bowel and cervical cancer and testing for prostate cancer where survival rates are now much higher with early detection and treatment. We ran on line courses to support menopause and pelvic health, as well as producing more videos.
We welcome enquiries from potential venues, community groups and organisations in Newham to work with. If you would like us to deliver to your group or organisation, please get in touch to discuss.

Our first two events were a great success, with our skin cancer awareness quiz, information on cancer awareness, wellness activities and chance to sign up for our free courses. Thank you to all those who attended and delivered activites and advice.

Jenny joined BEAT ( Beckton Environmental Action Team) on their walks and litter pick sessions to provide information, resources and support around staying safe outdoors in the sun and skin cancer awareness plus how getting active can reduce your risks of some other cancers, with prizes won for residents interaction with our quizzes.

Our online pelvic floor course and support session via zoom and a What's App support group to focus on pelvic floor health were a great success. We will be running further online courses and hopefully some in person sessions with Uzmaa.
Increased urination and changes in bowel movements is often talked about as a sign of some cancers, but as we age our pelvic floor muscles do get weaker, or as a result of birth trauma. Learn some simple breath work and exercises to look after your pelvic floor, along with some of the signs to talk to your GP about. These sessions are open to anyone, for yourself or to be aware and offer support to others around you.
Register your interest.
If you would like us to deliver a session specifically to a group or organisation, please get in touch. We have a support manual to accompany our course.
In the meantime - you could watch our short videos outlining simple pelvic floor exercises which could help improve continence and weak bladder issues in a matter of weeks. The videos are suitable for men and women.
